May 2018 expenses

Another month passes by. According to BLS, CPI went up by 0.8% in April . The story at our household is different. It is almost up by 9% from April to May. Now onto the category wise expenses.

Food: Groceries for this month is $684.08 and Restaurant is $0.00. Yes that is right. We went on a crash diet. Let us call it eschewing the chew diet. No solid food, only substance that can be gulped in. In summary, it was a win-win saving some money and shaving off few pounds.

We spent $167.64 in Costco,$165.78 in Whole Foods, $265.08 in Sprouts, $69.14 in Trader’s Joe, $8.79 in Indian Store, $0.69 in Lucky ( for the deal on green onions ) and $6.95 in Amazon. Mr.RF’s coffee spend at SBUX and PEETS were replaced by Mrs.RF's exquisite coffee at home.

House : This creeped up by $103.72. All that was dissolved in the KCl salt that water softener needs.

Utilities: Internet, Home security and Mobile bills were the same as last month. We prepaid gas and electric by $1001.35 to get some CC points (includes the CC convenience fee ).

Automobile: The bump in auto amount from last month was due to oil change for Mrs.RF's car, although gas expenses were lower compared to April.

Clothing : Mrs.RF helped herself to a new hat for $14.19.

Gardening: More plants and supplies for the summer season costing $68.67

Donation and gifts : Donations for causes and gifts for friends and family ran up to $522.71

Vacation & Travel: Nothing in this front.
