We have been tracking our finances for many years now. This is our first expense report we are posting. Its really fun, during this posting process, we are learning about our expense patterns. Some more information on few categories below.
Food: Groceries for this month is $615.22 and Restaurant is $243.70.
We spent $216.51 in Costco,$196.47 in Whole Foods, $124.76 in Sprouts, $46.51 in Trader’s Joe, $30.97 in Indian Store. Mr.RF’s coffee expense for this month is $13.05 and eat in multiple restaurants for $230.65.
We buy only organic food items, so our food bill is little high for 2 people. We buy berries, spinach, mango, tofu from Costco. Bulk of our other produce and greens are bought from Sprouts. We buy few items like bag of lemon, bell peppers and banana from Trader Joe’s. Whole Food is our catch all category, if we are not getting whatever is in Mrs. RF’s list in Costco or Sprouts or Trader Joe’s, we buy them from Whole Foods. We used to get rice from Costco for many years. In 2017, when Mrs. RF went gluten free, we read a study about arsenic in rice grown in USA, the lowest arsenic are found in rice grown from India and Thailand. So we started getting rice from Indian grocery stores. Also our Costco used to carry organic chickpea, but we don’t see them anymore in Costco. During our Indian grocery trip, we get organic rice and beans.
Utilities: Water is charged once every two months. Last month we moved to new mobile carrier, so our first month phone bill is little high. Utilities also has our internet and Home security.
Automobile: This month of automobile has just gas charges for both of our cars.
Subscription: Paid for CC annual fee $99
Gardening: Bought some flower plants.
Miscellaneous: Mrs. RF did some business trip and will be getting reimbursed for this.
Donation: Donated to our usual charity $51
Vacation & Travel: This month expense includes a park entrance fee $6. We do lot of hiking and so far didn’t have emergency supplies, we are in the process of building our emergency supplies $62.94. Also bought a picnic blanket from Costco $16.38. Paid for Water Lantern Festival in August $78.59.
